First Minister John Swinney has pledged to work constructively and collaboratively with the UK Prime Minister to devolve further powers to Scotland, provided they drive economic growth through higher wages, better jobs, expanded business opportunities and cost-of-living support. Both sides agree that Westminster is not working for people in Scotland and that the best decisions are made by those who live there. Swinney welcomed the commitment to respect the Scottish Parliament and not bypass it, viewing the National Economic Council meeting as a positive start toward a joint plan for further devolution.
