Chirp Privacy Policy
Minimalist data handling and privacy practices for Chirp (https://chirp.edu.scot).
Effective Date: September 2026
Your privacy is fundamental to how Chirp is designed. We operate with a minimalist data philosophy: we only collect what is strictly necessary to run the platform.
1. Information We Collect
When you sign in using Google Identity Services, we store your email address, display name, profile avatar URL, and an internal user identifier. Content you create (posts, replies, bios) is stored securely in our database.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information solely to authenticate your account, display your public profile, serve your posts and replies, and enable follow connections. We do not sell your personal data or share it with third-party advertisers.
3. Cookies & Session Storage
We use essential session cookies to maintain your authentication state. No tracking cookies or invasive third-party analytics scripts are placed on your device.
4. Data Control & Deletion
You can update your display name, website link, and bio at any time via your profile settings. You may also delete individual posts or request complete account removal.
