Can #SQL Understand JSON? JSON_EXTRACT in Exasol can return multiple fields from the same JSON string in one call, each mapped to a typed output column through an EMITS clause:

SELECT id,
       e.order_id,
       e.customer
FROM order_events,
     JSON_EXTRACT(json, '$.order_id', '$.customer')
       EMITS (order_id INT, customer VARCHAR(100)) e;

Oracle AI Database 23.26.1 added the DATEDIFF function:
DATEDIFF ( <unit>, <start date>, <end date> )

Despite the name this is not computing elapsed time. It counts the time boundaries crossed.

some examples:

#SQL> select DATEDIFF(year,sysdate-1000,sysdate) yr;
        YR
----------
         3
1 row selected.
#SQL>
#SQL> select DATEDIFF(month,sysdate-1000,sysdate) mth;
       MTH
----------
        33
1 row selected.
#SQL>
#SQL> select DATEDIFF(second,sysdate-1000,sysdate) secs;
      SECS
----------
  86400000
1 row selected.
#SQL>
#SQL> select DATEDIFF(microsecond,systimestamp-numtodsinterval(3.5,'SECOND'),systimestamp) us;
        US

IS DISTINCT FROM- NULL-safe comparison in #Snowflake

A Old way: handling NULL specifically

SELECT
FROM users
WHERE country_code != 'US' OR country_code IS NULL

Or wrapping in COALESCE

SELECT
FROM users
WHERE COALESCE (country_code, "N/A') != 'US"

New way!

SELECT
FROM users
WHERE country code IS DISTINCT FROM 'US'
